Each year, as the holiday season begins, everyone gathers around our family Christmas tree. The children and adults alike are filled with anticipation of the upcoming celebration. Boxes and boxes of our favorite ornaments are opened up and passed around. Some of the ornaments have been handed down for generations; We reminisce about the memories they hold. Others, handmade by little hands, hold a place of honor for all to enjoy. Soon our family tree is shining with glittering angels, shinny bells, and our love of Christmas.
Christmas villages with old-fashioned houses and bottle brush trees are arranged on the mantle. The sprinkle of glittering snow on the village rooftops and pathways give us hope for the snow we are dreaming of for Christmas. Below the twinkling village, stockings are hung with hopes and wishes for Christmas morning. As we finish decorating the holiday mantle, we sit by the fire and sip hot cocoa, dreaming of the white Christmas we hope for this year.
Christmas wreaths strung with twinkly lights, grace our windows and doors. The fragrant greenery is decorated with holiday ornaments, and welcome all into our festive home.
